    Golf Course Information
Tucked away in the Worcestershire countryside, Blackwell Golf Club is one of England’s most refined and timeless inland courses. Designed in 1923 by the legendary partnership of Herbert Fowler and Tom Simpson, it epitomises classic English design - strategic rather than overpowering, subtle rather than showy. The layout winds gracefully through mature woodland and gently rolling terrain, demanding precision from tee to green. Each hole has its own character, framed by immaculate bunkering and smooth, fast greens that reward imagination and touch.
Ranked #1 in Worcestershire and long regarded as one of the most elegant tests of golf in the Midlands, Blackwell has hosted Open Championship Regional Qualifying and countless elite amateur events. It’s a course that celebrates understated brilliance - a place where design heritage, natural beauty, and pure shot-making come together in perfect balance.

Course Designer:
In 1923 famed architects Herbert Fowler and Tom Simpson collaborated to lay out the full 18-hole course at Blackwell. It was the result of Fowler’s philosophy of letting the land’s natural contours dictate the holes and Simpson’s emphasis on strategic variety — bunkers shaped to encourage defence and approach lines that reward thought as much as distance.
